Haad Pak Phra Beach lies in the Tha Chatchai area of Mai Khao Subdistrict, Thalang District, Phuket. It is an estuarine beach shaped by coarse sand, turbid water, and continuous tidal exchange with the Pak Phra Strait.<\/p>

Overview<\/h2>

The beach forms the western bank of the Pak Phra Strait, a narrow connection between the Andaman Sea and Phang Nga Bay. Sand is coarse and mixed with shell fragments from the estuary. Water is consistently turbid due to sediment from mangrove outflow and tidal mixing. Semi-diurnal tides generate current speeds of 0.3\u20130.5 m\/s with spring-tide peaks above 0.8 m\/s. The navigation channel is dredged to roughly 2 meters but shifts due to sedimentation. Access is from Thepkrasattri Road (Route 402), with a left turn into the Tha Chatchai local road or the Sarasin Bridge viewpoint. Parking is available at the pedestrian viewpoint, with additional unpaved roadside spaces commonly used by fishing vehicles. Terrain is flat with sandy, grassy, and concrete sections.<\/p>

Strong tidal currents dominate the Pak Phra Strait, with documented spring-tide velocities exceeding 0.8 m\/s. Swimming is not recommended. Boat traffic, mooring lines, and abandoned fishing gear present further hazards. No lifeguard service is available.<\/p>

The beach functions as a working shoreline used by longtail boats and fishing trawlers. Noise comes from passing vehicles on Sarasin and Thepkrasattri Bridges and from marine engines. Visitor numbers are low, with activity centered on fishing, photography, and small seafood vendors.<\/p>
