Nui Beach Phuket

Overview

Nui Beach is located in Karon Subdistrict, Mueang Phuket District, between Kata Noi and Nai Harn. It is a short, enclosed bay with coarse sand and large boulders. Despite its public legal status, access from land is restricted by private operators.

Cove Geometry

The beach is approximately 120 meters long and shaped as a small cove. Rocky headlands enclose both ends, providing partial shelter from open sea swells. The seabed is mixed sand and rock, with large boulders close to shore.

North End (Karon Viewpoint Side)

The northern side is bordered by cliffs and large rock formations. Snorkeling is possible around boulders during calm conditions. Entry from land is not available from this side.

South End (Nai Harn Direction)

The southern edge is also rocky, with deeper water close to shore. This area can experience stronger currents during monsoon season.

Safety

There are no lifeguards on duty. Rip current risk exists during the southwest monsoon, particularly due to deep water near rocks. Swimming during rough conditions is unsafe. The access road is steep, unpaved, and hazardous for inexperienced motorbike riders.

Seasonality

From November to April, the sea is often calm and clear, suitable for swimming and snorkeling. From May to October, waves and wind increase, and access roads may become slippery or impassable after rain.

Facilities are operated by private businesses on adjacent land. Toilets and outdoor showers are typically available. Sun loungers and umbrellas are rented. Food and drinks are sold on-site at prices higher than typical public beaches. No public rescue or safety services are present.
