Karon Noi Beach Phuket

Karon Noi Beach Phuket is a sheltered west coast cove located between Patong and Karon. The beach is public by law, but land access is restricted by surrounding private resort land owned by Le Méridien Phuket Beach Resort. Updated: 14/12/2025

 

Overview

Karon Noi Beach is located in Karon Subdistrict, Mueang Phuket District, on Phuket’s west coast. The beach lies directly in front of Le Méridien Phuket Beach Resort and is fully enclosed by forested headlands, separating it from the main Karon coastline.


Central Cove

The beach forms a wide, enclosed cove with fine white sand and a gradual seabed slope. The protected shape reduces wave exposure compared with nearby open beaches, especially during the dry season.


Northern & Southern Headlands

Rocky headlands border both ends of the beach. These natural barriers limit longshore currents and contribute to calmer water conditions but can generate localized currents during storms.


Resort Frontage Zone

The entire landward side of the beach is bordered by Le Méridien Phuket Beach Resort infrastructure. Sun loungers, food service, and beach facilities are reserved for hotel guests or day-pass holders.


Safety

Professional lifeguards employed by the resort operate on the beach. Red flags are displayed during hazardous conditions, particularly in the monsoon season. Swimming should follow flag warnings at all times.


Seasonality

From November to April, the sea is typically calm and clear. Between May and October, waves and rip currents can develop despite the cove’s protection, and swimming restrictions are common.

All facilities on Karon Noi Beach are managed by the adjacent resort. There are no independent vendors, public toilets, or public showers accessible without hotel permission.


Rules & Conservation

The beach itself is public under Thai law, but land access is controlled. Visitors arriving by boat may use the shoreline but should avoid resort facilities unless authorized.


Atmosphere

The atmosphere is quiet and controlled, with no hawkers, jet skis, or public foot traffic. Crowd levels remain low even in high season due to restricted access.
