Rayee Beach Phuket
Overview
Rayee Beach is located on Phuket’s west coast between Kamala Beach and Hua Beach. It is approximately 500 meters long and faces northwest. The beach is known for its calm atmosphere and lower visitor numbers than nearby Kamala Beach.
Coral Reef Zone
The seabed at Rayee Beach is rocky with coral formations close to shore. At high tide, limited snorkeling is possible, with small reef fish visible. At low tide, rocks and coral are exposed, making swimming unsuitable.
Southern End
The southern section of the beach is narrower and more rocky. Small restaurants and massage places are located above the shoreline on wooden platforms. Shade from trees is common in this area.
Northern End
The northern end transitions toward Kamala Beach. The sand remains coarse, and rocks are present in the water. This area is often used for walking rather than entering the sea.
Safety
Swimming is not recommended due to rocks and coral, especially at low tide. There are no lifeguards stationed on Rayee Beach. During the monsoon season, stronger waves and rip currents may occur along the west coast.
Seasonality
From November to April, sea conditions are calmer, and snorkeling is possible during high tide. From May to October, waves are stronger, and marine conditions are less predictable. Jellyfish may occasionally be present during the monsoon season.
Facilities & Services
Facilities are limited. Small restaurants and massage services are located near the southern end. There are no confirmed public showers or toilets on the beach itself. Sun loungers and umbrellas are not generally available.
Rules & Conservation
Rayee Beach is a public beach under Thai law. Visitors should avoid standing on coral or rocks with visible marine life. No formal conservation signage is present, but responsible use is advised.
